All of us have encountered struggles in life whether it’s big or small. And you would agree with me if I say that dealing with your own emotions is the hardest battle. Negative emotions such as sadness, anger, fear can hinder the mind as much as any disease can hinder the body. But when you learn to master your emotions, all else will just fall right.

When there are things happening outside of you, it’s just that, they’re just outside of you, nothing’s happening inside of you. With these things happening, you have four decisions you need to make. Remember that making a decision is crucial for it will affect your future.

4 Questions to Ask Yourself and Decide:

• “What meaning am I going to choose to give this?”

This has something to do with how you view on things. For instance maybe it was raining and you were all soaked and you still smiled and enjoyed the moment, or maybe something you consider good happened and you still felt bad. These examples show us that we can choose our emotions and we don’t have to react to the situation or to the others immediately.

• “What did I learn from this?”

We learn from our mistakes and our decisions. Learn from a negative situation and process your emotions.

• “How am I going to integrate it right?”

It is important to integrate what you have learned RIGHT! Learning becomes more efficient when you integrate it right.

• “How can I share it with other people?”

This is where you make a difference. Most of the time, we say to ourselves that “we learned this; this is what I am going to do” but it’s special when you share what you’ve learned to other people.

If you want everything that you want in life, it’s mastering the meaning of this, what have I learned, how I can integrate it now, and how can I help other people. In this way you will be mastering your emotions.

Networking is an effective way of prospecting customers and finding out people who can help your business grow. But remember that networking means going out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself.

Networking is a crucial skill that an entrepreneur must have. It is an inexpensive and efficient way to grow your business. You will be meeting people who can possibly become your suppliers, clients and support systems.

It is important that more people know what products you are selling. Let’s face it, you may have the best product or service, but if only you and your family and friends know about it, then it doesn’t make sense. You must advertise your product. There are different ways to do that. There is social media, right? Who in this world doesn’t have a Facebook, twitter or LinkedIn account? Social media is free and as an entrepreneur you must maximize that.  If you have social media connections, it will be easier for you to do networking.

Networking is based on an inexpensive effort using a simple skill called “talking”. The best networkers do not even know that they are networking. They are generally good in conversations, talking, responding, and getting to know people.

Remember that you are selling a certain product to a client and to do that you must develop a certain relationship with people whom you think will be your clients.  Always remember that nobody is a “nobody”. Everyone you meet is a potential customer or a valuable contact. Marketing is simply spreading the word around, and it is a big loss if you continuously pass up opportunities for networking.

Networking is not only about talking; you must also learn to listen. Remember that in networking you are building a relationship that should result to a win-win situation. Do not think only of yourself, you must also take into consideration the other person.

Make networking a part of you. If you build a strong network of people whom you respect and value, you will have great influence. But if you set out to have influence without the firm foundation of a strong network of supporters you will fail and have no influence and a poor reputation.

Everyone talks about the power of positive thinking, but many people do not realize just how important a positive attitude is to professional success.Whether you are in business for yourself or working for someone else, having a positive attitude can be a real boon to your long-term success.

“Golfun’ For a Great Cause” Set for May 12, 2012 at Patriot Point Links

Charleston, SC, April 18, 2012 – Michelle Scarafile and Pam Hartley, co-founders of the Charleston Basket Brigade (CBB), announced today that the 2^nd Annual Armada Real Estate and Lowcountry Business Network Charity Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Patriots Point Links golf course on the Charleston Harbor with a noon shotgun start. “The Golfun’ For a Great Cause” tournament will benefit The Charleston Basket Brigade, a local nonprofit that provides Thanksgiving meals to Charleston area families in need.

The 18-hole golf tournament will have teams of four with Captain’s Choice. To register a team of four is a $500 donation.  The day will feature a silent auction with amazing prize packages and Caddy Girls of Charleston live auction. Golfers will receive a gift bag filled with $1,000 worth of merchandise and savings.

Lowcountry Business Network co-founder, Ellen Stebbins said, “We’ve created a very special event here for a great local cause. We have lots of awards to give out to our golfers including a free trip to The Masters with a hole in one. This tournament is all about having fun, so we invite all levels of golfers to participate and enjoy the day with us.”

Immediately following the tournament, The Lowcountry Business Network will host a 19^th Hole After Party at The Cocktail Club on King Street beginning at 6:00 p.m. featuring a live band, food and a cash bar.  The $10 cover charge per guest will be donated to the Charleston Basket Brigade.  The entire community is welcome.

“Last year we raised $2,950 for the Charleston Basket Brigade. So many local businesses and individuals came out. It was an absolute blast, and we are looking forward to this year’s turnout and raising substantially more,” added Bradley O’Mara, CEO of Armada Real Estate.

The Charleston Basket Brigade (CBB) was founded by close friends Pam Hartley and Michelle Scarafile in 2008 and  has raised a total of $138,990 to feed 4,633 local families in need at Thanksgiving, approximately 28,000 Charleston tri-county residents, over the past four years. It only takes $30 to feed a family of six. Timeline allows you and your friends to easily view your past Facebook activity, including old photos, posts, videos, comments, and group activity. The layout is arranged in reverse chronological order and also features some pertinent information about you at the top of the page such as your Friends list, photos, your likes, basic information, and a large photo called your cover photo.

A cover photo is located at the top of your timeline, right above your profile picture. Your cover photos are public which means anyone who visits your timeline will be able to view them. It is important to choose a unique and individualized cover photo for your timeline. People will learn more about you when they see your cover photo.

An easy way to ensure your cover image is unique is to choose an image from your life, like a photo from a wedding, or birthday party. If you want to use a photo to show solidarity or express support for a cause or organization, you can still post a status or a photo and star it on your timeline. If you have business, you can also make it as your cover photo.

Here’s how to add a cover photo to your timeline:

1. Make sure your Facebook profile is in Timeline.

2. Go to your timeline 3. Click Add a Cover

3. Choose whether you want to upload a new photo or pick a photo from one of your existing photo albums

4. Once you choose a photo, you can reposition it by clicking on the image and dragging it up or down
